This is a vision about a distributed filesystem. Currently I have more questions than answers. A collection of random thoughts.

I spent some time trying to understand what is behind the ZFS hype. I found many compelling ideas like getting rid of the volume abstraction, self healing and error detection. Some of the design decisions I just don’t find as revolutionary as they think. The I/O scheduler sound great at first. I think that could have been better.
